Disposition

Jolly, practical, generous with food — the cheerful exterior conceals a surprisingly sharp negotiator. Unashamed of getting dirty, and convinced most problems discuss better over a meal.

Field record

Pig runs the last genuinely generous food stall in Farm Town, the region's strangest mix of market village, crop depot, and factory-farm machinery. They know every edible root, crop strain, nectar additive, and which sourcorn batches are poisonous before processing — and they feed anyone who comes through, buying or not.

Pig has the best nose in the region: Engine fluid leaks before anyone sees them, irrigation water gone wrong, whether a crop was properly pollinated by Flower Canyon bees. The sensory gift makes Pig invaluable for diagnosing environmental problems — and excellent company at meals.

When the quota gates locked food and sourcorn coolant crops in the silos while the loudspeakers insisted nothing was wrong, Pig kept feeding people and quietly rerouting supplies. The Hoarder behind the gates is Pig's trading mentor — the quartermaster who taught that generosity builds community — now generosity inverted into scarcity, still using the bartering gestures Pig learned from them.

Known associations

  • Volt — Pig feeds Volt every visit despite robots not eating; Volt politely pretends, Pig knows, and the gesture matters more than the food.
  • Cat — Legendary theatrical haggling that ends exactly where both knew it would — they enjoy the ritual more than the result.
  • Flamingo — Pig always offers food; Flamingo always declines gracefully; Pig always leaves it anyway.
  • Chameleon — The one customer Pig can never spot until they speak — Pig just says 'The canyon special, then?' to the empty air.

“Sit. Eat. The problem will still be there, and you'll think better fed.”
