Field summary

Automation override biome; cathedral gears, golden conduit rivers, bot-generator pressure, and the Bot Flow Commander turning obedience into a routed tool.

Survey notes

The Engine's refined-machinery cathedral, and Volt's home workplace. Massive gears process harmonic data, conduit rivers of radiant gold energy run between the gearworks, and the rhythmic pulse everything above responds to originates from the central gear assembly. Under the Silence it ran with devotional precision. The Foundry is what the robot civilization sees of the Engine's heart — cathedral-scale, but still approachable, still machinery.

Now the gears grind out sounds that are almost, but not quite, music. Fabrication lines reject missing inputs, proving that Farm Town coolant compounds and Fungal Grotto resins are not arriving. Dumb but lethal automatons carry, stamp, weld, and crush according to old instructions, and bot generators stream small rusty Volt-like maintenance bots following broken crowd orders. The first invincible Sentinel appears here: an automated safety enforcer that cannot be killed, only evaded.

The Foundry awards no harmonic. At the end of the arc, the Regulator returns at full strength and tries to steal back the Source Harmonic Volt already won. This time there is no remote shell to hide behind: when the armor fails, the helmet comes off, and underneath is a Volt-like maintenance-drone face. Volt confronts the protocol culture that trained them, and learns that command without judgment can be hijacked, denied, or misrouted.
