The host
Custodian was identified as: None. Approach accordingly — the objective is recovery, not destruction.
The Nocturne Aperture is a moving aperture of pre-Engine darkness, met in the Abyss below the world — the place that was here before the Engine, where darkness reads as absence until lantern-light reveals it as prismatic, alien, and full of rest.
It has no host and no fragment. It is older than the categories the Silence uses to index the world, and the Abyss answers to none of the regeneration traditions. It guards the deep fall route where Clank's lost little sister's signal fades, and where the Wayfinder matters more than any weapon.
The Aperture's rhythm is musical in structure: shield, shot, caesura, retreat. It opens only during its rests — the Abyss yields to those who wait for the silence between its notes, not to those who force it.
Field notes — combat protocol
Descends from hidden ceiling anchors behind an umbral shield, fires prismatic slit shots, opens into a vulnerable caesura, then glides to the least-readable anchor — every fourth cycle lobs a blackout bloom instead.
