Field summary
Breakable sludge-block tunneling, peristaltic moving floors, photophore light radius, antibody knots, and a heart repaired with Cleansing Mist instead of a boss.
Survey notes
The Engine does not only maintain machinery. It maintains a few biological subsystems too, the most famous of which is the colossal organism that sleeps under Hollowmere. Whale-scale, soft-tissue, bone-ribbed, with photophore bacteria glowing along its interior lining. The old logs call it a harmonic amplifier. The locals just call it the leviathan, and for centuries it was nothing but a ridge in the water that never moved.
A hidden Hollowmere bonus route drops through breakable lakebed tiles into a nonlethal suction pit, and those who keep descending are swallowed into the gut. Inside: warm flesh corridors, bone-ivory ribs for platforms, peristaltic waves for moving floors, digestive pools, and a stranded Engine maintenance crew, alive but surrounded by antibodies the leviathan doesn't know aren't invaders.
There is no Controller here. The Undertow's pressure spikes corrupted the leviathan's heart rhythm, and the climax is a healing repair, not a fight: Cleansing Mist calms the antibody knots, clears the infected heart valves, and restores a steady pulse. The gut is the proof that the Engine is more than logic — it keeps life, too.
